A sober living house gives you freedom to live your life as you normally would, such as working and getting out of the house. You still have rules and regulations to follow, which we’ll explore later, but it sets you up for success and gives you stability in ways that your house or family setup might not be able to provide.
People with an addiction are most vulnerable to relapse 30 to 90 days following completion of a treatment program. From there, your chances of relapse remain present until you’ve sustained four or five years of sobriety when the rate decreases below 15%.
The support from aftercare programs, such as a sober living house, will help you or your loved one overcome the negative thoughts, feelings, and desires that can lead to relapse. A sober living program provides a safe environment where residents learn to cope with real-world situations.
Our sober living program can help you:
Someone who wants to stop drinking alcohol or using drugs should consider joining a sober living community. Many residents complete a rehabilitation program prior to approaching a sober living home, but this is not mandatory. If you have already gone through rehab, but you’re not quite ready to live independently, this type of facility may be an excellent fit for you.
LIFE Houses sober living house are serious about recovery. They want to be held accountable and to support their housemates. The goal is to transition to an independent lifestyle, free of substance abuse and addiction.
Residents may remain in a sober living home for as long as they want, if they continue following the house rules. The length of time depends on an individual’s unique journey and how long their treatment and recovery take. One study reports that an average stay lasts between 166 and 254 days.
We require that residents maintain their sobriety for at least 30 days before moving into one of our sober living homes.
No tobacco of any kind or vaping is allowed inside any LIFE Houses sober living home. Smoking is allowed in designated outdoor areas, such as the backyard and porch of the property, but all cigarette butts must be disposed of appropriately.
Most of our residents share a room with other roommates, but if you would like a private room, we may be able to accommodate your request if available. Please speak with a member of our admissions team to learn more about current room availability.
